Welcome to Alberta Alpha Pi Beta Phi! Before we were known as Pi Beta Phi we went by Alpha Upsilon which was a local women's group formed in 1928 at the University of Alberta. After a few years and a petition, we became Pi Beta Phi on September 22, 1931! That day was filled with initiations, exchanging of pins, and a cookie shine in the home of the charter member Ruth Shipley. The following days of our founding were filled with an installation banquet and the first Chapter Meeting of Alberta Alpha Pi Beta Phi.
